8 December 2011, Hong Kong – China Everbright Limited announced it has won the Honorable Mention at the Hong Kong Corporate Governance Awards, organised by the Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies and the Centre of Corporate Governance and Financial Policy of The Baptist University of Hong Kong. The award presentation was hosted at the Conrad Hong Kong and was attended by Mr. Ronald Arculli, Chairman of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, Mr. Wang Bingxin, Minister of Economy of the Liaison Office of the Central Government, and Dr. K. S. Lo, Chairman of The Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies. 

 

The Hong Kong Corporate Governance Awards programme is celebrating its fifth anniversary. Its objective is to recognise listed companies for their innovative thinking, best governance practices, checks and balances structure, risk evaluations, internal controls, shareholder protection and Board of Director independence. The judging panel was chaired by Dr. Anthony Neoh as well as other senior executives from the securities, investment market and corporate governance sectors. 

 

At the awards presentation Dr. Neoh said, “As a cross-border asset management company focusing on private equity and participating in Mainland banking and securities via affiliates, China Everbright has demonstrated excellent performance in managing governance and private equity fund disclosure. In addition, Everbright injected creative elements into their corporate social responsibilities by creating wealth and value for their customers, as well as bringing a healthy development of their lifestyle, strengthening long-term relationships.”
