The 2009 Renewable Energy Forum, co-organized by Everbright Research and Institutional Sales with Everbright Securities, was held at Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai on 15 December. Keynote speakers at the forum include Mr. Yang Yusheng, member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Dr. Zhang Tianren, Chairman of Tianneng Power International Limited, Mr. Tang Huangtong, director and board secretary of Jetion Holdings Limited, Mr. Cui Tongzheng, executive director of Dongyue Group Limited and senior analysts from Everbright and Everbright Securities.

 

The attendees discussed the following topics during the one-day forum: 
 

1. How the Copenhagen Summit influences policies on low-carbon economy; how to capture investment opportunities in the low-carbon economy value chain; how policy support shapes the sub-sectors’ fundamentals and room of development;
 

2. The current situation and outlook of overseas-listed Chinese energy companies; 
 

3. Latest technological achievements in electric motoring and motive battery; 
 

4. Further development of China’s new energy sector, breakthroughs in technology bottleneck, enhancement of efficiency of solar cells and the resulting opportunities; breakthroughs in lead-acid battery technology; achievements of CDM projects under the clean energy theme. 

 

The forum is an attempt to leverage the synergy between the research and institutional sales teams of Everbright and Everbright Securities in building Everbright’s image as a cross-border financial platform. The forum was met with enthusiastic response as more than a hundred professional investors, analysts and industry members attended the event.
