Everbright gains “Outstanding Investment Enterprise” Award at the “3rd CAPITAL Outstanding China Enterprise Awards”
At the awards ceremony of the “3rd CAPITAL Outstanding China Enterprise Awards” held at the Happy Valley Racecourse, Hong Kong on 16 May, 2008, sponsored by Capital Magazine, Everbright was named “Outstanding Investment Enterprise”. Held annually, the prestigious “Outstanding China Enterprise Awards” are awarded to influential Mainland and Hong Kong enterprises in recognition of their outstanding performance and to encourage more Chinese enterprises to contribute further to China's economy.
Altogether eighteen enterprises won awards at the “3rd CAPITAL Outstanding China Enterprise Awards” this year. The enterprise awards were strictly evaluated by a team of professional judges composed of well known figures from political, business and academic circles and the editorial board of Capital Magazine. The selection criteria included overall performance, goodwill, corporate governance, operation management, market positioning and the achievements of the enterprises in balancing the viewpoints of stakeholders for a fair and impartial evaluation. All scores were audited by Chak and Associates, Solicitors.
Guests present at the award presentation on 16 May included Mr Stephen S. L. Lam, JP, Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Henry Wu King-cheong, Vice Chairman of The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Mr Wilson Fung, Executive Director of Hong Kong Productivity Council, Mr Eric Tang, National President of Junior Chamber International Hong Kong and a number of legislative councillors.
The award acknowledges and publicises Everbright’s achievements in the area of investment. In his speech at the ceremony, Mr Tang Tsz Chun, Executive Director and CFO of Everbright, stated that Everbright has focused on strategic investment, direct investment, asset management and industrial investment since the beginning of 2000 when Everbright took an active part in establishing investment teams. Before proceeding with each investment project, the company professionally evaluates each project using a rigorous assessment process. Various investments made by Everbright have generated returns of 300% to 400% their investment amounts in different projects since 2007. Mr Tang Tsz Chun said that the award belongs to every employee of Everbright and it affirms what they have achieved for Everbright.
